Purple Thumb is the social impact arm of Greene Thumb Landscape. Through purposeful partnerships, meaningful employment opportunities and access to healthier outdoor spaces, we use what we do every day to help people and communities thrive.
Growing Hope Through Purposeful Partnerships
Through our partnership with a major hospital network in Indiana, Purple Thumb provided reduced-cost and donated services to help establish flower, fruit and vegetable gardens supporting cancer patients and their families.
We understand the comfort that flowers, nourishing foods and thoughtfully cared-for outdoor spaces can bring during treatment and recovery. This project reflects what Purple Thumb is all about: using our expertise to create spacer where hope and people can grow.
Growing Talent Through Meaningful Opportunities
In 2026, we hosted HVAF intern for a 10-week internship and then full time employment.
In 2026, we hosted 3 summer college interns. Sarah Smart, Indiana University, Human Resources intern; Rainna Yarborough, Ball State University, Marketing Intern; Alexandra Ely, Colorado State University, Project Management intern.
Through partnerships with local colleges, universities, and Helping Veterans and Families, Purple Thumb creates hands-on learning and employment opportunities for students and veterans. To date, we have welcomed four college interns and provided a 10-week internship to a newly enlisted U.S. Army veteran seeking his first workplace opportunity.
We believe talent is everywhere, but access to opportunity is not. By providing mentorship, professional development, and real-world experience, we help people build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to grow. After successfully completing his internship, our veteran intern remained with Greene Thumb for an additional six months turning an opportunity into meaningful employment.
